About the Principals of SeaFire

Chris Reeves, CPCU, Chief Underwriting Officer
Work experience: 18 years with Universal Underwriters/Zurich
Chris led all underwriting functions as Vice President of P&C Underwriting at Universal Underwriters( Brand changed to Zurich in 2006). In this capacity, Chris managed a staff over 110 underwriters specializing in the automotive industry and Gross Written Premium over $500 million. In addition, Chris had key responsibilities for product development including the Unicover policy.
Education: BA in Economics and Mathematics, Cal-State Fullerton.


 

 

 

Scott Hoy, CIC, Senior Vice President of Business Development,
Work experience: 17 years at Universal Underwriters/Zurich. Scott held various sales and underwriting positions including account executive, regional sales manager, vice president and general manager and most recently national vice president of sales.
In Scott’s most recent position, National Vice President of Sales, he was responsible for over $400 million in Gross Written Premium and managed multiple distribution channels including direct and retail agency. Scott managed key automotive national and state associations and led customer council meetings. Additional leadership responsibilities include marketing, advertising, and customer service.
Education: BA Communications, University of Kansas.


 

 

Dennis Kane, CPCU, President
Dennis is the President of SeaFire Insurance Services, which provides exclusive property and casualty solutions for the auto industry.

Prior to establishing SeaFire, Dennis was Executive Vice President at Universal Underwriters / Zurich.  His tenure there spanned two decades during which Dennis held various positions in sales and underwriting for P&C and F&I,  including Account Executive, Regional Sales Manager, Vice President and General Manager, Senior Vice President, and Executive Vice President. As the Executive Vice President of the Strategic Business Unit, Dennis had P&L responsibility for $1.3 Billion in Gross Written Premium and a staff of over 1,000 employees.  As a member of Zurich’s executive committee, Dennis aided the approval of all programs administrators.

Dennis graduated from the University of Kansas with a BS in Business Administration, and is a member of the CPCU.  He supports Peak Performance for Children, a non-profit organization support children with cancer and ITP blood disorders.
